Lackawanna County Visitors Bureau

Lackawanna County was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution. Learn and understand how an area in Northeast Pennsylvania was a catalyst for the growth of our nation when you visit attractions such as the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, the PA Anthracite Heritage Museum, Steantowm National Historic Site, and the Electric City Trolley Museum.

Our drive for innovation hasn’t stopped since the Industrial Revolution. Visit any of our attractions and learn about their S.T.E.A.M. programs to better understand the science that drove massive industries to Lackawanna County, the ecological environments surrounding the river that runs through our region, and the vibrant arts scene taking over the Electric City.

We invite performance groups to showcase their talents in any of the annual festivals or events including the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders games at PNC Field, one of the largest St. Patrick Parades in the country, and many more! Lackawanna County is also home to historical theaters built in the early part of the 1900’s, and an 18,000-seat Pavilion that hosts Live Nation concerts every summer.
