Grand Hotel is located on Mackinac Island where automobiles are not allowed and bicycle and horse-drawn carriage are the preferred modes of transportation. Family owned for three generations, this national historic landmark is truly one of a kind. Open from May through the end of October it provides the charm of a historic hotel with all the modern amenities. Experience horse-drawn carriages, Afternoon Tea and chamber music, croquet on the Tea Garden lawn,shopping at the hotel or downtown Mackinac, or one of the island’s many historic landmarks like Fort Mackinac. 

Each evening after 6:30 p.m., men are to dress in suit coat and tie, women in dress or pant suit. Ballroom dancing throughout the evening follows dinner and demitasse. At day’s end, members of your group will retire to one of our 385 uniquely decorated guest rooms all designed by renowned designer Carleton Varney of Dorothy Draper & Co. Inc. 

Grand Hotel’s group rates are based on the Modified American Plan, which includes accommodations, a full breakfast and five-course dinner daily; or the Full American Plan, which includes accommodations, a full breakfast, Grand Luncheon Buffet and five-course dinner daily. 

If you are planning a trip for the day please visit and enjoy the picturesque scenery from the World’s longest porch and our legendary Grand Luncheon Buffet served in the Main Dining Room overlooking the Straits of Mackinac.
